The Scandi Orthopedic Grade 4 Carpal Splint is a state-of-the-art support that is fully customised to your dog’s specific measurements. The Grade 4 Splint is excellent for dogs with severe carpal hyperextension, leg fractures, partial carpal ligament or tendon injuries. This Grade 4 Splint is probably one of the best in class splints on the market if you want to immobilise your dog's leg for a full recovery, or more permanent carpal support.

This splint comes with or without the paw section, this will depend on what injury type your dog has. This splint differs from the Grade 3 Carpal support as you will need to scan your dog's leg using your phone. It will then take 5 working days to make. Scandi is a leading maker of customised splints for dogs, so this splint will fit like a glove.

This splint can be adjusted and adapted to the desired level of movement with a stop-band and/or motion limiter for controlled rehabilitation or as extra insurance after delicate surgery. It comes with or without the shoe part. Please note, phalanges with osteoarthritis always require Grade 3 or Grade 4 with paw included, since stabilisation of the paw will be necessary.

Types of Grade 4 best for...

  • Rigid Carpal Splint - Best for general carpal injuries where support is needed. If a dog has severe instability, arthritis in the carpal joint or a failed arthrodesis. This product is more durable than Grade 3 and can help to offload and stabilise the carpal joint
  • Articulated Carpal Splint - If a dog has instability, inflammation or post-operation. Collateral ligament injury. Side instability carpal joint
  • Hyperextension Carpal Splint - Light to moderate hyperextension
  • Rigid Carpal Rigid Metacarpal Splint - If a dog has severe instability, arthritis in the carpal or metacarpal joint or a failed arthrodesis. This product is more durable than Grade 3 and can help to offload and stabilise the carpal and metacarpal joint (paw). You can use it instead of a cast and for fractures.
  • Articulated Carpal Rigid Metacarpal Splint - If a dog has severe instability, inflammation or postop. Collateral ligament injury. Side instability carpal joint or/and metacarpal(paw). If the also have a arthritis in the paw this will stabilise the carpal and off load the paw. We also use this product with a stop strap for carpal hyperextension and that is when dogs have severe carpal hyperextension and side instability (varus/valgus) this product is better than Carpal hyperextension with paw
  • Articulated Carpal Articulated Metacarpal Splint - If a dog has severe instability, inflammation or postop. Collateral ligament injury. Side instability carpal joint or/and metacarpal (paw)
  • Hyperextension Carpal Rigid Metacarpal Splint - Moderate to severe hyperextension, your dog needs support all the way down to the paw as the carpal is too weak to hold itself
